Terms & Conditions

Here at Simpson Green Equine and Canine Laundry, we take pride in providing a professional, friendly and reliable service, treating every item entrusted to us with care and attention.

We always aim to achieve the best possible results, however, due to the nature of equine and canine laundry, particularly when dealing with older or heavily used items, there are certain limitations to the service that we provide.

We kindly ask all customers to familiarise themselves with the following Terms & Conditions prior to arranging collection or submitting items for treatment.

Acceptance & Condition of Items

All items are accepted in their existing condition. Older, heavily used or poorly maintained items may have weakened fabrics, stitching, lining, fastenings or coatings that are not immediately visible. The washing and drying process may reveal or worsen existing weaknesses, even where appropriate cleaning methods are used. We cannot accept responsibility for deterioration arising solely from pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear or inherent material weaknesses, provided that we have exercised reasonable care and skill. We reserve the right to refuse any item that we consider unsuitable for safe washing, reproofing or repair.

Washing & Cleaning Results

Whilst every effort is made to achieve the best possible cleaning results, we cannot guarantee the complete removal of:

  • Stubborn or deeply ingrained stains.

  • Grease, oils and persistent odours.

  • Embedded horse or dog hair.

  • Discolouration caused by age or previous use.

  • Mould staining or other permanent marks.

Certain materials, particularly fleeces, coolers and heavily used rugs, may retain some hair or staining following washing.

Waterproofing & Re-Proofing - Important Information

Reproofing products cannot repair damaged, deteriorated or failed waterproof membranes, coatings, seams or fabrics. Where a rug is already leaking or allowing water through before washing, there is no guarantee that reproofing will resolve the problem. The effectiveness of reproofing depends on the age, condition, previous use and existing waterproof construction of the rug. Older or heavily used rugs may have deteriorated beyond the point where reproofing can provide satisfactory results. We reserve the right to advise against or decline reproofing where we believe that an item is unsuitable for treatment. By requesting our wash and reproof service, customers acknowledge that reproofing is a treatment intended to improve water repellency and is not a guaranteed repair for leaking rugs.

All treatments will be carried out with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate products and methods.

Existing Damage & Fabric Deterioration

Some damage may not become apparent until an item has been washed or dried. This may include weakened stitching, damaged linings, deteriorating waterproof coatings, worn fabrics and failing seams. Where such deterioration results from pre-existing weaknesses rather than a failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, we cannot accept responsibility for any resulting damage.

Shrinkage, Colour Fading & Material Changes

Certain fabrics may be susceptible to shrinkage, fading, colour transfer or changes in texture during cleaning. This is particularly relevant to older items, delicate materials and products without clear manufacturer’s care instructions. We will use appropriate cleaning methods and reasonable precautions, but cannot guarantee that unavoidable changes associated with the item’s existing condition or inherent material characteristics will not occur.

Buckles, Straps, Velcro & Fastenings

Buckles, clips, straps, elastic, Velcro and other fastenings may weaken or deteriorate over time. Whilst every care is taken to protect these components, existing weaknesses may become apparent during treatment. We cannot guarantee the continued performance of components that are already worn, damaged or deteriorating.

Repairs

All repairs are carried out in house with care and attention. Where repairs are identified which total more than £15, customers will be contacted for approval before any significant additional charges are incurred. Please be aware that repairs may not restore an item to its original strength, appearance or waterproof condition, particularly where surrounding fabrics are already weakened. Where repairs involve stitching through waterproof fabrics, the waterproof performance of the repaired area may be affected.

Heavily Soiled or Contaminated Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse items that are excessively contaminated, infested or otherwise unsuitable for treatment. Where additional treatment is required, customers will be advised of any added charges before proceeding.

Collection & Delivery

Customers are kindly asked to ensure that all items are securely bagged, clearly identifiable, accessible and ready for collection at the agreed location to avoid delays. Customers should ensure that items handed over to us correspond with their order details. We ask that customers notify us of any particular concerns, existing damage or known waterproofing issues when arranging their collection.

Where customers wish to reschedule or cancel a collection we ask that they contact us directly to do so.

Where items are not securely bagged, clearly identifiable or accessible when we arrive, we reserve the right to leave the premises and rearrange collection for a later date, subject to availability. We cannot guarantee a return visit on the same day unfortunately.

Turnaround Times

We always aim to complete orders as promptly as possible. However, turnaround times are estimates and may vary depending on workload, drying conditions, the condition of items and any repairs required. We will endeavour to keep customers informed of any significant delays.

Payment Terms

Payment is required within 24 hours of completed orders being returned to the customer. Where payment is not received within this period, we reserve the right to require payment in full before releasing items on future orders. Any additional charges will be communicated to the customer for approval before additional work is carried and and invoiced for.

Loss or Damage

We take reasonable care of all items entrusted to us. In the unlikely event of loss or damage resulting from our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, we will work with the customer to reach a fair resolution in accordance with their statutory rights. Where compensation is appropriate, the item’s age, condition and reasonable current value may be relevant when assessing any loss. We do not accept responsibility for deterioration arising solely from pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear or inherent material defects where reasonable care and skill have been exercised.

Acceptance of Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all washing, reproofing and repair services provided by Simpson Green Equine & Canine Laundry.

Customers are asked to agree to them before using our services.

By arranging a collection or submitting items for treatment, customers agree to these Terms & Conditions where they have been made available before the service is agreed.
